What is the Anterior Talo Fibular Ligament (ATFL)?

This ligament connects the fibular to the talus and provides support to the ankle. This ligament is the most common ligament injured with an inversion ankle sprain.

Injury to the ligament is based on the fibres that are damaged

Grade 1:  Stretching, small tears

Grade 2: Larger partial tear

Grade 3 Complete tear
