  • Normal ultrasound appearance of the midportion of the Achilles tendon – homogenous linear pattern of the tissue ranging in thickness from 3.8-6.8mm (1)
  • Ultrasound appearance of the midportion of the Achilles tendon – heterogenous linear pattern of the tissue with mixed echogenicity, typically thicker than the opposite side
